There is no brown grass this year....everything is lush and green all over. That's because the southwest corner of Ohio has turned into a rain forest. We are grateful for the rain, but for us contractors it has been an incredible rainy season. As I'm typing this, I have an umbrella strapped around my head. We are down to throwing up some tarps and easy-ups just to get some concrete on or in the ground at this point. We are behind schedule, and will be a domino effect for the remainder of the year. I'm sorry folks. I wish I could control the weather. Anyway, above are some of the projects we've got to complete this deck season. More to come when we can get to them. Between all of these projects, we have been building bank closing decks for the home developer we build for......still not sure what Ohio is offering to out of staters to move here...maybe free groceries for a year, free oil changes, dogs or nannies, but people are moving here and buying up every home that's being built or hasn't even been finished yet. This is where the labor shortage gets real.....not enough hands to finish the framing, drywall, roof, etc. Jobs are plentiful in this area......no excuse not to work full-time.
Schedule note: We will be resuming estimate appointments in November of this year for our 2019 Spring schedule. If you would like to get ahead of yourself, whether you contract with us or not, please go visit our vendor showroom at McCabe Lumber in Loveland Ohio, or a deck showroom of your choice. If you're planning to use anything beyond treated lumber, then it is worth the trip to go check out all of the decking products. McCabe Lumber has all kinds of decks set up with all of the different materials so you can check out the colors, and feel the textures. Those small square samples do not do alot of it justice. Especially if you're going to make an investment in your home, then grab your travel cup and go take a look. Comments are closed.
