Finished up this commercial project just in time for the Labor Day holiday. This project consisted of 2 large decks, and a small deck, all freestanding, with 2,360 total square feet of space. The project manager chose Azek decking from the Harvest Collection, in the Island Oak color. The main deck has a single picture frame border around the perimeter, and the wading pool area has a quintuple border, which ties it in nicely with the main deck area. We installed two sets of steps, and one handicap ramp. We also installed a 48" glass handrail at the north side of the area, behind the hot tub. Other areas, we installed a 42" black aluminum handrail. We enjoyed this project, made some new networking contacts, and hope these condo residents enjoy themselves out there in the sun. We will now resume our residential deck schedule, so please keep checking back for project photos.
Almost there..........and I've lost count after at least 13,000 fasteners installed...we hit that last week. We are in change order mode right now......those two concrete areas you see in the photos will now have Azek decking there as well. So, we still have some work to go. First time in this company's history that we've bent Azek decking, and didn't have to use $3,000 heat blankets....we took advantage of the 3 digit sunbeam temps, and it worked great! A bit disappointed that not all of the other contractors used my deck protection, but we do not leave our decks dirty, and we will have those boards spiffy before we pack up and leave. My apologies for the photo quality....I was not allowed to climb the outside of the building to get those bird's eye view pics...they were taken from the inside, behind glass. Keep checking back for the soon completion of this project.
