Almost finished with this Azek PVC deck. After the stair rail gets installed, and the rest of the fascia board is attached, this deck will be ready for the homeowner to sit out there and enjoy themselves. This customer did opt to have a dark brown plastic lattice installed as skirting around the underrneath of the deck. This will provide a nice storage area, and the dark brown skirting will match nicely with the darker Azek Kona used for the picture framing. The lighter Azek Brownstone fascia boards will be used as trim between each lattice panel to match the color scheme of the deck. Keep checking back for our photos of this completed deck. Our friends at Global Link Solutions have introduced a new product from Wellspring-Systems. It is a deck landscaping kit that's very easy to install and can be customized to fit your needs. The school system in Litchfield Hills, CT are actually using several of these kits to provide an edible school garden, and teaching the students basic gardening. If you don't want to have a big planter occupying your deck space, you can always use this kit to provide a different look, and they're self-watering as well. If you're interested in these garden/landscaping kits, please give us a call today!
This week we started this Azek PVC deck, and it's moving right along. The colors you see here are the Azek Brownstone (lighter), and the Azek Kona (darker) which is picture framing the deck. Love this color scheme, and it will all be topped off with a beefy, black aluminum railing. Also, this customer has opted to intall a dark brown lattice skirting unerneath the deck to provide a storage area, and will be trimmed out in the light Brownstone color fascia when complete. Keep checking back for this completed project. You also need to take the time to go visit McCabe Lumber's showroom in Loveland. Finished this 15' x 22'4" deck with a total square footage of 326'. As you can see in the photos, the decking boards were installed in a herringbone design, which gives dimension to the deck. The customer also opted to use the round, black aluminum balusters which gives the railing a nice touch. Those balusters are courtesy of American One Fence and Railing from North Royalton, OH. The framing, decking, and top/bottom railing materials are Southern Yellow Treated Pine #1 and purchased from McCabe Lumber. our salesman at McCabe, Rick Wedding, will help you decide upon your decking needs, and we can build your deck for you. After doing demo on a small concrete porch on the rear of this home, we discovered there was no foundation wall under this small bathroom. The homeowner informed us that this room stayed consistently cold throughout the year. So being the handy decking company that we are, we blocked up the hole, made forms for a concrete pad and corrected this problem for the homeowner. Not only did it give us something to attach that side of the deck to, but it helps the homeowner with the moisture and air flow underneath his home. The framing, decking and railing materials are all Southern Yellow Treated Pine #1, and purchased at McCabe Lumber. Give our salesman, Rick Wedding a visit to let him help you decide on your decking materials, then give us a call for a free estimate!
