This boat dock is a project that we did back in 2013, and I still get calls, and emails about it to this day. The latest phone call I received prompted me to revisit and repost this project once more. We had never constructed a boat dock before, and when you see the photos go to the crazy and unorganized mode.....it's no mistake, because it was :).........it was a huge learning curve for us. I spoke to every boat dock builder from Ohio to Kentucky, Indiana, and Pennsylvania to try and get some helpful tips. In the end we purchased the RHINO PD200, which is a Pneumatic Post Driver. I will answer all of the questions I receive on a regular basis and provide more details below:

It is appreciated and I am so very grateful to all of you, and to all of your families. We hope to be installing this product in our new screened room construction project. Keep checking back for the progress. *Thomas Decks, LLC does not own the photo..photo credit goes to Synergy Wood Products Got a few more things accomplished on this sunroom project, but still have a bit to go before being completed. The lighting is all installed in the basement area, got the trap door cut out in the floor, and the steel door that will be installed in that cut out, is being built as I'm typing. The customers are also tossing around the idea of installing a lift as well. Would be very handy to transport items from floor to floor. This project will be completed this season :) As long as the customers choose to add more, we will work more to ensure they get everything they want. Tomorrow, we will begin another new roof over deck.........so, keeping checking back for our upcoming projects!
We finally got the retainer wall installed with more drainage. The product we installed is the Clifton gray, big block, straight profile retainer wall system, which is available at your local Menards. It's the first time we've used this retainer wall system, and I happen to really like it......it's bulky, but sturdy, and very economical. We also installed more drainage pipe and crushed limestone behind the wall sections to keep the water from settling in the wall area.
This is it......just a low rise rectangle, no railing and two sets of steps. Almost hugged the customers when they told me what they wanted :) It has been a busy, detail oriented deck season so far, and this deck is just wood and hardware....loved it. In and out in a day.....that's all it took to construct this 20' x 16' platform deck with 338 square feet of space. We did add landscaping fabric and ground cover underneath for a more finished look.
We finally got the Eze-Breeze window and door system, www.ezebreezewindows.com/?gclid=CKqwlYm03MwCFZcdgQodvKkDRQ installed for the sunroom area. We also got the aluminum roll up www.idealdoorgaragedoors.com/ garage/storage area, exterior doors, and the Azek decking installed as well. We still have the interior, wood grain tile flooring, the under floor heating, a trap door, and the deck railing to install before we can call this project "DONE" But wanted to show how this window system turned out looking great, and a very economical application for any sunroom. Please keep checking back for our progress.
We just completed this Azek deck over the future storage and extra living space. The deck is 14' x 29' including the landing and steps. Total square feet of space is 406. These homeowners chose Azek decking and fascia from the Azek Arbor collection, in the Mountain Redwood color. The picture frame border around the perimeter of the deck, and also installed on the step treads, is the Cypress color from the Azek Vintage collection. The railing they chose is the American Aluminum railing system, Scranton profile, in classic black. I love how the colors compliment the color of the home. Due to an agreement with the homeowners, the storage and living area underneath the deck will be completed at a later date this year. We are flexible and willing to work with customers any way that we can....we can always get to a safe stopping point and continue at a later time if the need arises. So, that means you have to keep checking back for the phase two completion, and our other projects throughout this year.
Speaking of our other projects............This afternoon our Eze Breeze sunroom window system will be delivered, so we will be back there to get those installed and complete the finishing touches on that project for the next few days, in the Montgomery, Ohio area. For those of you that have called interested in this system, after we receive our final deck inspection and approval, we would be happy to host a visit so that you can view the system to see if this is something we can install for you. Back in Batavia the past few days, and even though it's been raining on and off, we've got quite a bit completed. The rest of the concrete work was finished, got one wall up, most of the siding, and got some of a 60 mil rubber roofing membrane installed to ensure a dry space underneath the deck. When this is completed, there will be a storage room next to the steps, with a wall dividing it from the living space. The storage room will have it's own separate exterior entrance, as well as an interior entrance door. The rest of the area will be extra living space for the family with a slider patio door, and windows. To the left side of the steps, we will be installing a retainer wall with plenty of drainage. So, keep checking back for the progress of this room and Azek deck.
