We would like to introduce the Clifrock Panel System. Every kitchen, firepit, and water feature shown in the photos have been constructed using this system. The kitchen system is half the cost of a traditionally built outdoor kitchen, it's lighter material, yet extremely strong, and can be installed in ONE day. We can attach a kitchen (cabinet area and countertop) or firepit to your patio or deck, upgrading your space to an ultimate outdoor living area. If you have a postage stamp of a backyard, and all you've got to view is the neighbor's grass.....then this is your answer. Using the Clifrock Panel System, we can make your backyard look as if the dinosaurs left those rocks in a perfect pre-historic formation with a water source, or make your swimming pool look like a lagoon in the cold Ohio winters. My personal favorite is the very large tree stump firepit.....I will be singing and roasting marshmallows in my backyard by fall. This system isn't offered to the general public at this time, so give us a call for more information. Now we are finally getting somewhere.......it's taking shape and looking like a future sunroom. We finished up with the roof framing, and taking out an upstairs window on Tuesday. Yesterday, the 2, 24" x 24", clear, fixed Velux Skylights http://skylightmarket.com/ were installed between 24"oc rafters, and the roof got its shingles courtesy of Deer Park Roofing http://www.deerparkroofing.com/ here in Cincinnati. What you don't see is our installation of the vapor barrier for the flooring, the R-30 insulation between the joists, then studifloor T&G plywood, the installed Hardie backer board for the wood grain tile we will be installing for the finished look of the sunroom floor. So, please keep checking back for our progress on this project, and our other cool projects coming up soon.
Hand crafted railings are gaining more and more popularity as the more unique materials are in demand for customers wanting a more individualized approach to customize areas of their home. The railings in the photo are hand crafted out Mountain Laurel, and would certainly add some "umph" to your deck or porch. James Pader works with other skilled woodworkers to craft a variety of deck railings to fit your style, anywhere you live. Check out his website to see all of his railings, and other customized products
http://awoodrailing.com/2014/11/16/100s-of-deck-railing-ideas-designs/ This is a covered deck we finished this past Christmas. The customers had us come back and build some outdoor cabinets, and install a granite countertop for their outdoor area. Lots of storage, and the countertop is food prep safe. Give us a call for your very own customized covered deck.
Started framing our walls, and should be ready for the roof by the middle of this week. Please keep checking back on our progress of this project. Eventually we will be installing the Eze-Breeze 4 Track Vertical window system......a very cool product indeed. Their website link is below:
http://ezebreezewindows.com/?gclid=CKGK4K7p0csCFUo2gQodsJoEQw The garage that's going to be under the sunroom is finally taking some shape. We will be finishing up the walls and ceiling today and tomorrow. Please keep checking back for progress work, or give us a call for an estimate! DISCLAIMER: Thomas Decks, LLC does not own this phrase or this T-shirt
Every week someone searches this phrase on this website. I had previously blogged about this shirt and it's meaning. Like you, it made me stop and think, and it fit perfect for the deck job we were doing at the time. Those customers had no clue how unsafe their deck was from being installed incorrectly and the use of subpar materials. They did get a great price on that deck, but the cost to repair all of the water damage from no flashing, and no safe attachments to the home cost them more. Building decks isn't a hobby for us. We don't have other jobs Monday through Friday, then build decks part-time. We build decks all day, every day. This is our bread and butter, this is how we bring home the bacon. We are building decks to make money, and yes, to make a profit. Just like you are...... after subtracting your obligations out your paycheck each week, then you decide what to do with what's left over..your profit. After we pay for your materials, then we decide what to do with ours. Most of the time there's not alot let over...not what the general population thinks....this is a highly competitive business field to be in because you have the "Chucks in a truck" as above, that will undercut our prices to get the job. BUT, what half our business IS, is getting a call from one of these cheap built deck owners to please come and fix the deck problems. You were just trying to save yourself some money, you were just worried about the mark up and how much the contractor was going to make off of you. Well, now some of you know and you're calling us to get another estimate on how much a repair or new deck will cost. Unique skills of qualified builders do have value. We have determined our worth after helping so many homeowners have a safe deck after seeing so many failures and doing the repairs. Not only can I tell you, but I can show you what we bring to the table to prove our worth. Any good qualified builder can, whether it be a framer, an interior/exterior remodeler, home builder, or a roofer. You should be able to go see and check out any previous work, you should be able to get a list of references on the spot, get their business/contractor's license, get a copy of their insurance certificates. You can go to your local building department to check that everything has been built to the current building code requirements, you can view permits that have been pulled and check that they've passed inspections. All of these items are available at your fingertips for free, to make sure you're getting your money's worth and to see what good contractors/builders can provide for you. If you choose to hire someone without verifying the list I've provided, and invest your hard earned money into something below standard, then I will be waiting for your call so that we can make our hard earned money. So, back to the t-shirt message.........no other statement could be more truthful. Finally got our concrete work completed, and next week we will start framing up the walls, the roof of this structure, then the sunroom and extended deck area. The concrete slab area you see here will allow the homeowner to park a small car underneath the sunroom. Consider turning your space under your deck into a storage area if you haven't already. Give us a call for more information and an estimate!
